It seems there's a concerted effort to try to brainwash these faiths that they are somehow 'lesser' in importance, or have 'something wrong' with them. I note your comment "excluding" the main organisation of SDA's - but all over the world SDAs are called "a cult". This trend is caused by, mainly, ignorance of scripture/Bible prophecy, and especially the present mega-move to push everyone into the dreaded (but fully prophesied by God) "evangelical unity" worldwide - which union will eventually bring the entire world under the rule of the Papacy, prophecy tells us. The truth is, the SDA church was given the final, last-day warning from God to reveal to the world what would come and what now is happening - to warn people to repent and get ready for our Lord's soon 2nd Advent, when we will account for our faith and works. The faithful preachers who have followed and taught these warnings since 1844, when the SDA church was raised, have almost all died out - a true tragedy; however which, is all known to God & was all predicted just as it is happening - and, God will again raise up a people to give the final warning - the true & faithful among the SDAs, and amidst all this apostasy, by which the world WILL be finally and fully warned - and those who can see this by the Holy Spirit's enlightenment WILL "come out and be separate", repent, be baptised & prepared by Jesus to go home with Him for eternity. When prophecy is studied to find out just what IS the truth on all of this, it is very easily discovered, established & prove. But in the meantime much suffering & persecution of the faithful ones will take place - there will again be faithful martyrs for God's Truth. Secondly, do you know that in fact the early apostles (Matthew, Mark, etc, and Paul) were ALSO called a 'sect' or 'cult'? Read for instance, Acts 54:5,where a Jewish leader (a man from "God's church" of that time, the Jewish nation, and a high-ranking politician describe Paul and the disciples ALL as belonging to “that Nazarene sect”. As well, Acts:24:1-5, speaking of Paul: " For we have found this man a pestilent fellow, and a mover of sedition among all the Jews throughout the world, and a ringleader of the sect of the Nazarenes" - Also Acts 28:22. Finally, the SDAR contain some of the loveliest Christian people who strive to obey and trust their Lord. They separated from the "mainstream" of Adventism only on the 'War issue' when they in good conscience did not want to kill others, killing being against the Ten Commandments - which is, of course, a faithful Christian stand in anyone's books! The General Conference of SDAs were politically involved with the governments of the time, conscripting young men from within the organisation, & refused to accept this stand of Christian conscience. Those who wanted to obey Christ ("If ye love Me, keep my Commandments" (John 14:15, for just one text), were ostracised, rejected, opposed & eventually had to separate from the GC SDA church, in good conscience. However, now they have some 'introduced teachings' that are unfortunately not fully in accordance with what the Bible says - as with all religion, it only goes "awry" when man's instructions are followed, and not God's! SDAs are supposed to fully uplift & uphold ALL the Bible teachings, & the faithful will stand and preach and teach that truth to the end. Highly and strongly recommend the book "The Great Controversy" by Ellen G White, last-day prophet * messenger of God to the SDA church - the first half is Bible history, second half Bible prophecy, revealing ALL that is happening today, & why. I pray you will get a copy: very cheap in paperback, available worldwide.Moongoldhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01495509313980013987noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8952665042846837614.post-62735377519814279822013-08-16T01:27:11.181-07:002013-08-16T01:27:11.181-07:00I'll say the book is correct in one sense defi...I'll say the book is correct in one sense definately:

"Very little is in print today that can provide even elementary instruction in this vital area. Only a few small books or tracts have attempted to deal with the basic and practical principles which should distinguish the Christian life from that of the world. The reason for this reluctance to write on these specifics of Christian conduct probably rests upon two fears: First, the fear of offending the rather large majority of church members who are living far below the biblical standard. Second, the fear of being labeled as judgmental, legalistic, holier-than-thou, and lacking in the personal, love-relationship with Christ. We are forced to recognize that these fears have often been justified. There has been too much written in the spirit of pharisaism. Satan has exploited the vocal, fanatical views of a very few and has used them to intimidate those who would write temperately on the subject. And too often, in his special hatred of this truth, Satan has caused many in the church to look upon any discussion of Christian standards as extremist and improper. These factors have combined to create a dearth of material on this subject."

It isn't just what people say and believe but rather the spirit by which they say and do it, as Jow Crews attests in the quote above. Most of the SDARM subscribe to views that conservative mainstream Adventists hold.

The difference is the spirit of judgementalism and fanaticism that the SDARM (and I use that term broadly) have to those views, especially to the extent that they make those issues 'salvation issues' as tests of membership. Similarly, it is the idea that anyone who doesn't hold such views must be "apostate", which leads to very Pharisaic thinking, where the minutae of legalistic practices becomes more important than the central truth of Jesus.

Within the Church, there is no doubt danger from both conservative-Pharisees and liberal-Sadducees. The SDA Church has its fair share of liberal-Saddecess - to be sure. However, the SDARM is very much in danger of the sort of fanaticism Joe Crew warns against.
